Benton & Bowles, Frankfurt (1977-1980)

Benton & Bowles gave me the chance to service various clients and products. I launched the Land Cruiser series for Toyota in Germany, I also worked with Wick medinait's cough syrup from package design to commercials, Harley Davidson, Roquefort Societe (French cheese).

McCann Erickson, Frankfurt (1980-1982)

Joining with McCann Erickson I had the chance to work with Opel Automobile account for Germany and Europe and was personaly responsible for the German account, executing the whole range of communication, from small dealer ads to TV commercials, from the car brochure to the new model launch event.

BMW AG (Bayerische Motorenwerke AG) (1982- 2008)

“Sheer driving pleasure” and “sheer working pleasure”


I started my marketing career in the BMW marketing department in 1982 which lasted for 26 years. I was responsible for the brand/product advertising and later I took over the position of international marketing in-house consultant. I supported marketing managers of BMW subsidiaries and importers over South Europe, for marketing planning and execution.


With the upcoming leasing and financing for cars and motorcycles, I was promoted to Marketing Manager of BMW Bank in Germany. For five years (1997-1992) I was responsible for the leasing and financing products, pricing, communication and training.

BMW Japan (1992)

I was promoted to Marketing Director BMW Japan. I held the responsibility for the overall marketing mix and had team of 25 Japanese associates.

BMW Thailand(1995)

In 1995 I continued my Asian journey and I moved to Bangkok/Thailand for a new assignment. I became responsible of the restructure project of the sales and marketing of the BMW importer in Thailand. Which was my first experience as a consultant.


Together with the importer management we successfully developed a master plan, to increase sales, improve dealer network, training and marketing.


After fifteen years within marketing I decided to experience retail operations which gave me great understanding of the overall market.

BMW (1998)

In 1998 I returned to Frankfurt, Germany where for the first 18 months I worked in every department of the BMW Niederlassung (BMW own sales and after sales outlet), selling new cars, used cars, motorcycles, supporting the after sales and the administration, where I received a certificate as automobile sales consultant.

BMW (1999)

In 1999 I joint BMW Niederlassung Essen as Sales Manager for new car sales and Manager Motorcycle sales and after sales.


We sold per year around 1.300 new cars and 500 motorcycles (new and used). I also held the responsibility as project manager for the implementation of QMA (Quality Management Autohaus).


Together with the business unit we developed business processes to streamline the daily business with the objective of customer orientation.

BMW Thailand (2004)

In 2004, returning to Thailand, I took over the position as Sales and Marketing Director BMW Thailand. I was responsible for thirty associates and fifteen dealers and we sold more than 2.000 new BMW and MINI and recieved the J.D. Power Award for best customer satisfaction in 2005.

BMW China 2006,

In 2006 I joint BMW China for implementing a new Dealer Management System (ADP Autoline), supporting the project with my experience in whole sale and retail. I was responsible for the system implementation and development of training concept and material where we implemented VCT (Virtual Classroom Training) via internet in 2008.


As a result, a successful project management, a quick and smooth rollout of the system was brought to the BMW and MINI dealer in mainland China.
